from Econtent (August 2002).

Convera have announced that Dr. Claude Vogel has joined the company
as chief scientist. Dr Vogel, founder and former CEO of Semio
Corporation retains a significant equity position in Semio. Dr. Vogel will
report directly to Senior Vice President of product development.

Semio is one of the leaders in categorisation (maybe Kurt can tell us more, DTIC
is a client) and Convera are "a leading provider of search and categorisation
software products and solutions..."

More convergence, not surprising as the area is crowded.

Bye, Barry

P.S. Don't foprget to look at David Russon's text on advocacy in the Discussion
Area of the Members Services on the icsti web site.
