An ad interim Commission on Charge, Spin and Momentum Densities was established in 1972 to promote the study and resolution of the factors that limit accuracy in crystallographic studies relating to charge, spin and momentum densities. The Commission on Charge, Spin and Momentum Densities was established at the following General Assembly in 1975, and changed its name in 2017 to Commission on Quantum Crystallography.
