Second Session of the General Assembly

In the Second Session of the General Assembly, Delegates approved reports from the IUCr's Regional and Scientific Associates, and its Representatives on other bodies not belonging to the Union

The highlight of the Second Session is always the invitation to attend the next Congress and General Assembly, and the presentation of bids to host the following one. On this occasion, Delegates learned of the arangements for holding the next Congress in Madrid, a city surrounded by no fewer than four towns of World Cultural Heritage status, in August 2011. Verbal and video presentations were then made, inviting the Delegates to consider bids for the 2014 Congress to take place in Montreal (Canada), Prague (Czech Republic) and Hyderabad (India). The Delegates were asked to consider these presentations, and to put forward their considered votes at the next Session.
