These pages collect together notices posted on the IUCr web site in past years. They are retained for archival interest, but there is no guarantee (or likelihood) that many of the web links found in these notices will still be active.
PANalytical Award
PANalytical has embarked upon an initiative to reward an early career scientist with a € 5,000 cash prize.
The project was envisaged as a way of advancing scientists that are presently establishing their research careers and are therefore most affected by the reduced government research spending in many regions due to the prevailing economic climate. Researchers that have never held a professorship are eligible to apply and the field is restricted to research where a laboratory-scale X-ray technique was used as the primary analytical tool. (On this point, recipients are not limited to any particular brand of instrument that was used to reach their conclusions.)
Applications for the prize should consist of a journal article published in a scientific journal and, based on the journal article, the winner decided by a selection committee composed of three respected international scientist and two specialists that are in the employ of PANalytical. Highest priority will be given to submissions of work in topical fields and that demonstrate scientific excellence and innovative thinking.
The closing date for applications is 30 September 2012.
