David Sayre 1924-2012

We are sad to report that Dr David Sayre died on 23 February 2012. Dr Sayre was awarded the eighth Ewald Prize for the unique breadth of his contributions to crystallography. The presentation of the Ewald Prize was made during the Osaka Congress Opening Ceremony in August 2008. A full obituary will appear in Acta Crystallographica Section A.
