Judy Flippen-Anderson (1941-2018)

On 31 March 2018, Judy Flippen-Anderson passed away at the age of 76 years. As well as being a cornerstone of the American Crystallographic Association, Judy tirelessly served on several IUCr Commissions [Journals, as Co-editor of Acta Crystallographica Section E (2002-2011); Small Molecules (1993-1996) and Structural Chemistry (1996-1999, Chair 1999-2002)]; as Editor of the IUCr Newsletter (2003-2013, in partnership with Bill Duax) and as a delegate to the IUCr General Assembly. Many will remember friendly chats with Judy at various meetings, and may like to view photos in the IUCr archive here. She will be greatly missed by her many friends in the crystallographic community. A full obituary will be published in due course.
