The second Robert F. Stewart Electron Density School, named in honour of one of the fathers of high-resolution crystallography, took place from 20 to 22 August 2022 at the Faculty of Science and Technology of Vandoeuvre-les-Nancy, France. The school was organized by the CRM2 laboratory, with whom Robert Stewart had collaborated.

The school's aim was to enable doctoral students from Europe and abroad to acquire new skills in the field of experimental modelling of electron and spin densities. Thus, a series of practical courses were devoted to current software, including that developed at CRM2 (MoPro, MOLLYNX).

The 30 participants comprised 15 supervisors, teachers and researchers and 15 young scientists from all over Europe but also from Africa, who were able to take advantage of this event for scientific exchange with each other and with recognized scientists.

IUCr funds supported the attendance of five young scientists from Egypt, Germany and Poland.
