[Copper pyridylimine complex] The molecular coordination sphere of [Cu(CF3SO3)2(C16H18N4)].
The molecular structure is composed of discrete neutral CuII units of [Cu(CF3SO3)2(C16H18N4)], which have been derived from the flexidentate bis(pyridylimine) ligand, N,N'-bis[1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethylidene]ethane-1,2-diamine, in which the two pyridylimine binding units are linked by an ethylene spacer. The ligand acts as a tetradentate chelate in the equatorial plane and the weakly bonded triflate ligands above and below this plane complete the monomeric CuN4O2 chromophore of tetragonally distorted pseudo-octahedral geometry.
