10th Ewald Prize awarded to A. Janner and T.W.J.M. Janssen [posted 05 Dec 2013] The tenth Ewald Prize has been awarded to Professors A. Janner and T.W.J.M. Janssen (both from the Institute for Theoretical Physics, University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands) for the development of superspace crystallography and its application to the analysis of aperiodic crystals.
Formation of the Asociacion Latinoamericana de Cristalografia (Latin-American Crystallographic Association) [posted 08 Nov 2013] A Latin-American Assembly, part of the First Latin-American Meeting on Crystallography held in Cordoba, Argentina, 29 October - 1 November 2013, agreed to the formation of the Asociation Latinoamerican de Cristalografía (Latin-American Crystallographic Association - LACA).
Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2013 [posted 10 Oct 2013] The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for 2013 jointly to Martin Karplus, France and USA, Michael Levitt, USA and Arieh Warshel, USA for the development of multiscale models for complex chemical systems.

The ICDD Ludo Frevel Crystallography Scholarships: 2013 [posted 13 Feb 2013] The ICDD Ludo Frevel Crystallography Scholarship Committee has selected thirteen recipients for the 2013 Scholarship Program. These recipients were selected, on a competitive basis, from sixty-nine commendable applications received by the ICDD Scholarship Committee.
