Student bursaries for APD-IV
As posted to the Rietveld mailing list
Dear all
Just a follow-up on the recent announcement for the Accuracy in Powder Diffraction meeting to be held at NIST - Gaithersburg, MD, USA from 22nd to the 25th April 2013 - http://www.nist.gov/mml/apdiv_conference_2013.cfm
Through the support of the Executive Committee of the IUCr, we have received some funds to be used for assisting students to attend the meeting. The APD-IV secretariat is able to provide partial funding for travel and subsistence for bona-fide students.
To be eligible for this support, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a young scientist - i.e. a graduate or post-graduate student, or a Post-Doctoral Fellow.
- Have a maximum age of 30 (exceptionally 35).
- Be able to obtain proof of status by obtaining a signed letter from the Head of Department (or equivalent).
- Submit an abstract for a poster to APD-IV
- Send the abstract to [email protected] and [email protected]
- Put "STUDENT - APD-IV abstract" in the subject line of the email (otherwise we may overlook it)
- The abstract must be received by 11th March 2013.
- The abstract must be accompanied by the proof of status letter in 3. above.
Please note - Recipients of a young scientist grant are required to create an entry in the World Database of Crystallographers (if not already present). Go to http://wdc.iucr.org and follow the link to "Create a new entry", filling in your professional details as fully as possible.
Cheers
