Google doodle celebrates Rosalind Franklin's birthday
Any Google search on Google on 25 July 2013 was accompanied by a crystallography-themed doodle. Note the correct handedness of the DNA helix, the consequent cross-shaped diffraction pattern and the absence of reflections at layer 4, indicating two parallel helices shifted axially by 3/8. We thank Mariusz Jaskolski for reporting this.
