Inaugural meeting of the Senegalese Crystallography Association
We are delighted to announce that the Senegalese Crystallography Association (SCA), established in 2022, is organising its first «Cristal Ô» day on 19 February 2024 at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University Cheikh Anta Diop, Dakar, Senegal.
The event, which is being held in collaboration with the IUCr and the African Crystallographic Association, marks a significant milestone in the advancement of crystallography in Senegal and beyond, and is under the direction of Claude Lecomte, Emeritus Professor at the University of Nancy Lorraine, France; former Vice-President of the IUCr; and Chair of the Steering Committee for the IUCr Crystallography in Africa initiative.
We are proud to share that the IUCr is supporting the attendance of 12 female and 12 male researchers from four Senegalese universities, underscoring its commitment to promoting education, community and gender equality and diversity in crystallography and structural science.
