The 3rd Annual meeting of the Open Reflectivity Standards Organisation (ORSO)

We would like to invite anyone interested in the technique of reflectometry, X-ray or neutron, to attend the coming annual meeting of ORSO (https://www.reflectometry.org/).

The meeting will take place online from 14th – 18th June with three plenary sessions and a range of speakers covering topics relevant to the technique. The sessions are timed to allow participation to at least some sessions in any time zone.

Confirmed speakers include:

Hiroyuki Aoki, J-PARC, Japan
Jos Cooper, ISIS Neutron and Muon Source, UK Tom Hase, University of Warwick, UK Stefan Kowarik, Graz University of Technology, Austria Stuart Prescott, University of New South Wales, Australia with more to be announced soon (see the ORSO website for the latest information). In between these sessions the four working groups will hold discussion sessions covering their activities:

Tue 15th June:   Data Formats Working Group: 
Presentation of the current status of ORSO data formats and working towards a common dictionary for reflectometry.


Wed 16th June: Reproducibility Working Group: 
Discussions of how to define standard samples and calibrations and work towards creating a reproducibility checklist for users


Thu 17th June:   Data Analysis Working Group: 
Reflectometry software developers demonstrate their software, and discussions on a shared model language and co-refining X-ray and neutrons


Fri 18th June:   Education and Outreach Working Group: 
Presentations and discussions of projects leading towards an SLD database and a tutorial paper on reflectometry data analysis
