[SA_Scat] Virtual BioSAXS Workshop - 12/10/2024 to 12/13/2024

Small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) is a popular technique for obtainingbiophysical and structural information from biological macromolecules andcomplexes in solution. SAXS is extremely powerful as both a complementaryprobe for high resolution techniques and in studying systems, such asflexible or intrinsically disordered proteins, that are often intractablefor crystallography or cryoEM.
BioCAT (Sector 18 at the Advanced Photon Source) is offering its tenthintensive BioSAXS HOW-TO workshop. Participants will have four days ofvirtual lectures and hands-on software tutorials on the basics of BioSAXSdata collection and processing from expert practitioners in the field. Thecourse will take place from 12/10/2024 to 12/13/2024, and is entirelyvirtual via Zoom.
Registration will be limited to 30 participants in order to allow forone-on-one and/or small-group interactions between participants andinstructors. There is no cost associated with the workshop and registrationwill be granted upon review of a short application.
Note: This course is intended for researchers interested in scattering frommonodisperse biological macromolecules. It is NOT for soft matter materialsor systems which are significantly polydisperse.
The application deadline is September 30th. For more details andapplication/registration information see:https://www.bio.aps.anl.gov/news/everything-biosaxs-10.html
All the best.
