Complete details are available on the World Wide Web at webster.ncnr.nist.gov/events/nobugs2002/ The NOBUGS conferences provide a unique meeting point for both developers and users of computer techniques in scientific instrumentation, especially as employed at large scale user facilities, e.g. synchrotron- radiation and neutron-scattering facilities. The conference features oral and poster presentations related to recent developments in software, techniques, and standards in the information technology areas relevant to the scientific research facilities. The complete conference proceedings will be availablke on CD-ROM. The conference seeks to improve the user's scientific productivity by focusing on the interaction between the experimenter and the facilities' infrastructures, apparatus, and data. The conference topics include, but are not limited to: Data Analysis Data Acquisition Data Visualization Data Formats Distributed Computation Graphical User Interfaces Web Interfaces Automatic Beam Alignment Instrument Simulation Software Biocomputing in User Facilities Programming Techniques Remote Monitoring and Control Remote Experiments Collaborative Initiatives Scientific Databases User Facility Business Processes User Facility Computer Security Tours of NIST and the NIST Center for Neutron Research facilities will be provided, as well as the traditional conference banquet. Software and hardware vendors will be on hand to describe their product lines.
