The IUCr Commission on Small Angle Scattering and the organizers of the
SAS 2002 Congress wish to call the attention of community members to the
existence of prizes in the names of Andre Guinier, O.Kratky, Paul Shmidt,
and Harry Brumberger. Information on the scope of these prizes and rules
for nominations is available at <http://www.isf.unian.it/isf/SAS/
prizes.htm>. members of the SAS community are urged to submit nominations
for the Guinier prize, which is an award for an outstanding contribution
or for liftime achievement. 

Young scientists who are registered to present papers at the meeting are
encouraged to submit supporting information for the other prizes.

These prizes represent a new direction for the Congress organizers and
the SAS Commission. Details of funding, channels for contributions, and
other procedures are still being worked out.

information or submission of nominations is included on the relevant web
pages.
