[Experimental set-up] Illustration of the experimental set-up and procedure for measurement.

Magnetic Compton scattering is sensitive to the spin magnetic moment of a magnetically active electron. Applying the induced magnetic field dependence of magnetic Compton intensity, a method to obtain the spin-specific magnetization hysteresis loop has been developed as a new tool to investigate microscopic origin of macroscopic magnetization. Its validity was demonstrated on TbCo amorphous film and it was shown that this method has sufficient sensitivity to investigate spin magnetization, even of a thin film. We expect this method will be used for studying magnetic materials.
