National School on Neutron and X-ray Scattering

Argonne National Laboratory is pleased to announce a unique opportunity
for
graduate students to participate in the first United States National
School
on Neutron and X-ray Scattering to be held at Argonne National Laboratory,
August 16-27, 1999. The main purpose of the school is to educate students
on the utilization of major neutron and x-ray facilities. The first week
will offer tutorial lectures on the principles of scattering theory and
the
characteristics of the sources. The second week will be devoted to the
application of scattering methods to condensed matter, as illustrated in
seminars, as well as in hands-on experiments of interest to materials
science and polymer physics.

Applicants are encouraged to register electronically via the World Wide
Web:
     http://www.dep.anl.gov/nx/index.html

NOTE THE APRIL 30th deadline.
ALSO NOTE that this is only for graduate students
