The 3rd Frolic Goats High-Pressure Diffraction Workshop, held at the Adam Mickiewicz U., April 26-27, 2010, was attended by 30 crystallographers. This 'organic work' type of conference is aimed mainly at disseminating single-crystal high-pressure diffraction techniques used in crystallographic laboratories and at consolidating the high-pressure crystallographic community in the region. The audience included both beginner and expert high-pressure crystallographers. A series of lectures on high-pressure studies with conventional four-circle diffractometers, synchrotron and neutron sources and high-pressure data reduction were followed by application of pressure to specific subjects of crystal chemistry and materials sciences (Andrzej Katrusiak, Klaus Merz, Marek Szafrański, Maciej Bujak, Marcin Podsiadło, Kamil Dziubek, Damian Jęczmiński, Michał Andrzejewski, Julia Bąkowicz, Marek Daszkiewicz and Marcin Jarek). There were vivid discussions and afternoon laboratories on assembling high-pressure equipment, loading diamond-anvil cells, centering it on a CCD diffractometer, data collection and processing. High-pressure research at the Faculty of Chemistry, Adam Mickiewicz U., is currently financed by a TEAM grant from the Polish Foundation of Science. In the evenings participants enjoyed the historical first capital of Poland, in the heat of Polish Football Extra-league finals, eventually won by Poznań team Lech and decently celebrated on May 15.
