Judy Flippen-Anderson

Judy Flippen-Anderson has accepted an appointment as corporate secretary of the American Institute of Physics. Judy generously agreed to become the editor-in-chief of the newsletter when I became president of the IUCr in 2002. She graciously allowed me to return as co-editor with her in 2006. Although Judy will no longer be on the staff of the IUCr newsletter her impact upon it will remain. Among her many valuable contributions as editor, Judy was instrumental in promoting timely publication and fostering fiscal responsibility. We will do our best to stay on the course Judy has set for us. We wish her success in her new position and all her endeavours on behalf of the crystallographic community.
