X-ray Jubilee celebrated in Russia

An International Jubilee commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the discovery of X-rays took place in October 1995 in Chernogolovka, Russia. V. Shekhtman from the Russian Academy of Science (RAS) gave an opening address describing the life of W. K. Röntgen. T. Malinovsky, L. I. Dazenko and others described applications of X-ray diffraction in Chemistry, Physics and Medicine. The seminar was organized by the National Crystallography Committee of Russia. the Inst. of Crystallography RAS, the Inst. of Solid State Physics RAS and Scientific Council of Metal and Alloy Physics RAS with financial support from the Russian Foundation of Basic Research.
