Willis 70th Birthday

A meeting was organized by the Neutron Scattering Group of the Institute of Physics to celebrate the 70th birthday of B. T. M. Willis. After dinner speakers who reminisced about their work with Terry included G. Lander, A. Albinati, J. Howard, K. Prout, G. Bacon, S. Pawley, U. Arndt and C. Carlile. Among Willis' many accomplishments perhaps those that had the greatest impact on the crystallographic community were the eleven summer schools he organized in Harwell and Oxford. A full report from C. Carlile and K. Crennell is on the BCA Web Pages at URL http://www.cryst.bbk.ac.uk/BCA/CNews/Sept97/Willis.html.
