Cryo-Loop kit

This new device was designed to facilitate rapid fabrication of small fiber loops that are now becoming widely used for mounting macromolecular crystals, particularly crystals flash-cooled to cryogenic temperatures. The loops are generally made from rayon or nylon fibers and are formed around a piece of small diameter wire held by a pin vise. A large loop is formed by attaching both ends of the fiber to a rod, which is inserted into a stationary block. The loop is then slipped over the wire and the attached rod is twisted to wind up the excess fiber, forming the loop. The Cryo-Loop kit comes complete with everything needed to begin loop making.

Crystallization Robot

The IMPAX Automatic Protein Crystallization System offers precise control over dispensing micro batch crystallization trials into wells of a microtitre plate so crystallization conditions can be screened accurately. Samples containing up to five ingredients are dispensed in 1-2 μl droplets under oil to eliminate evaporation so that final crystallization conditions are precisely known. 48 trials can be dispensed through a special Micro Tip in under three minutes saving valuable research time by eliminating time and labor- intensive hand dispensing. Automatic matrix generation by the software interpolates between user-defined conditions to quickly determine optimum crystallization conditions.

Cold Probe

The new FC55 immersion cooler generates temperatures down to -55°C using non-CFC refrigerant gas in a reliable mechanical refrigeration system. The FC55 can be used in place of dry ice or liquid nitrogen as a cooling source for liquid baths or as a cold trapping surface to trap solvents or other condensates from vapor streams. The FC55 generates cooling power of more than 230 BTUs/hour at 40°C and has a footprint of only 10.5" wide x 16.5" deep.
