Show and tell

A week of organized events at the Daresbury Lab (UK) informed the general public about scientific research and methodology. There were physical models for hands on experience, diffraction of sound waves linked to a loudspeaker, laser diffraction from a grid, a rotating wheel displaying the various states of the "Breathing Hemoglobin" molecule swapping O2 for CO2 and a model of hen egg-white lysozyme complexed with a saccharide. There was also a display of the software used in handling protein models, and a set of web pages designed for the event. Readers are encouraged to scan the visitor's pages at and related sites.
