American Crystallographic Association Buerger Award

The triennial award of the Buerger prize will be made at the Atlanta meeting of the American Crystallographic Association in June of 1994. This award recognizes mature scientists who have made contributions of exceptional distinction in areas of interest to the American Crystallographic Association. There are no restrictions on the nominees or nominators. M. J. Buerger, Prof. Emeritus at the Massachusetts Inst. of Technology and the U. of Conn., was a mineralogist who made major contributions to many areas of crystallography. Previous recipients of the $3000 award were: W.P. Busing, 1985; G.A. Jeffrey, 1988; and J.D. Dunitz, 1991.

,P>Nominations may be submitted by Jan. 15, 1994 to the Chair or any member of the award committee. The major contributions made by the nominee should be identified, with supporting documentation.
