Crystallographic news, interactive sessions, and file transfer by the commands telnet and ftp are available on the European information server CONCISE. For an interactive session one connects with the command: telnet concise.level-7.co.uk and log on with the userid: concise and password: concise. Configure the terminal with the command: d vt100. To find crystallographic news change directory with g /sigs/crystal. Access CONCISE by e-mail at concise@concise.level-7.co.uk. For assistance contact the help desk by e-mail at helpdesk@concise.level-7.co.uk. The crystallography section of CONCISE in the subdirectory /sigs/crystal presently contains indexes for Acta Cryst. and J. Appl. Cryst., information on the European Crystallographic Committee and the IUCr, job and meeting announcements, information on crystallographic computer programs, and details of some crystallographic associations. Organizers of international, national or local meetings are invited to submit announcements. Accounts of the activities, organization and membership conditions of crystallographic associations, indexes of other crystallographic journals, and general news and announcements are most welcome. Send contributions by email to: flack@scsun.unige.ch with no more than 78 characters per line. e-mail submissions will be included in CONCISE within 24 hours of receipt. For articles not in the English language, please provide a 5-10 line summary in English.
