PANalytical Award supports young scientists

PANalytical is one of the world's leading suppliers of analytical X-ray instrumentation and software. The company seeks to reward early-career scientists who have demonstrated innovative thought to their research when using an X-ray analytical technique with a $5,000 prize. The Award in 2012 went to Thomas Bennett (UK). Ana Cuesta (Spain) received the 2013 Award for her investigation of yeelimite, the most important phase in calcium sulfoaluminate cements.

The winner of the 2014 Award will be decided in early 2015 by a selection committee that includes established research scientists unaffiliated to PANalytical. Submissions for the 2015 Award will be possible from June 1, 2015 with a deadline of December 1, 2015 (www.panalytical.com/award). Applicants must publish a paper during the period 1 January 2014 – 1 December 2015 that demonstrates ground-breaking thinking in a topical field. There are no restrictions on the manufacturer of the X-ray equipment used. Questions can be addressed to award@panalytical.com.
