Electronic News and Addresses

A directory of e-mail addresses of crystallographers is maintained by M. Teeter, Dept. of Chem., Boston College, Boston, MA, USA, with support from the IUCr and ACA. The list is available by ftp from the Protein Data Bank computer (pdb.pdb.bnl.gov or 130.199.144.1) over the Internet. It will soon be available from a fileserver for those who do not have access to Internet. For ftp, log-on as anonymous and go to the directory pub/Address list (use the exact upper/lower case). The file is called crystlist.adr. More complete instructions will be e-mailed on request.

To all those on the address list, news of job postings, meetings, and miscellaneous announcements are sent out every 1-3 months. These notices are available by ftp in the same directory as the crystlist.adr file and are called .ann files (with the date preceding the .ann).

To add your name to the list, send an e-mail message to M. Teeter at teeter@bcchem (on BITNET) or teeter@bcchem.bc.edu (on Internet). If your node does not work when the announcements are sent out, your name may be removed from the list. If you think this has happened, try ftp-ing to check the latest .ann file date or send a note. If you leave an institution, please send a note so that your name can be removed or address changed. Happy electronic communication!
