Extended Arc Goniometer Head

This extended arc goniometer head expedites data collection from flash-frozen crystals at cryogenic temperatures. It facilitates orientation and transfer of the crystal. The extended arc provides 35.5° of additional rotational freedom about one axis for obtaining the desired crystal orientation. Rotating the crystal about the arc does not translate the crystal, eliminating the risk of moving it out of the cold stream. The magnetic mounting system is convenient for rapidly attaching the crystal to the goniometer. The sample holder with a fiber loop affixed is held directly to capture the crystal from a small drop of harvest buffer. The ferromagnetic base allows the crystal to be placed on the goniometer in one motion. Frozen crystals can be immersed into liquid nitrogen, removed from the goniometer, stored in standard cryogenic storage dewars, and remounted later. The Standard unit is 63.97 mm in height.

Molecular Models for Crystallography

Computer graphic representation courtesy of C. Freeman, Biosym, etc.

Physical molecular models are now available for most areas of crystallography. Both skeletal and semispace filling styles can be bought either as standard sets, kits, or individual components. Make actual hand-held models of zeolites, proteins, DNA, clays, and more, to complement your computer generated images. Suitable for research or teaching applications at all levels.

Reagent Kits Grid Screen

The Grid ScreenTM crystallization reagent kits provide a rapid, economical, and highly effective way to screen initial crystallization conditions for proteins, peptides, and nucleic acids. Using less than 1 mg of sample, each Grid Screen allows one to screen 24 unique conditions of varying pH and precipitant concentration.

Four unique formats are available: Grid Screen PEG 6000, Grid Screen PEG 6000/Lithium Chloride, Grid Screen Ammonium Sulfate, and Grid Screen MPD. Formulations are based upon the most frequently utilized and most successful precipitant and pH combinations. Each screen allows one to evaluate the effect of pH between 4 and 9 vs varying precipitant concentration.
