CCrS 4^thGeneral Assembly

The 4^th General Assembly of Chinese Crystallographic Society (CCrS) took place July 27-30, 2008 in Huangshan city, China, near the scenic Huang Shan mountain ridge. The General Assembly was accompanied by the academic conference, in which plenary lectures were delivered by Yigong Shi, Ze Zhang, Jiyang Wang, Xiaoming Chen, Zhenhong Mai, and Thomas Blanton (ICDD, USA). Over 120 oral talks were given in 4 conference halls on the topics of: Biological macromolecular structures; Small molecular structures; Powder diffraction methods; and Crystal growth and characterization, fields of the four academic commissions of the CCrS.Over 500 participants (half students) from throughout China attended the meeting, including some industry exhibitors. The general board committee members of CCrS were re-elected by the majority vote of the participants, and the board committee members held a meeting to elect the standing committee members and the president of CCrS.The first board committee meeting was attended by Jiutong Chen, Xiaolong Chen, Xiaoming Chen, Jianping Ding, Yuhui Dong, Yunlong Feng, Jianhua He, Hong Ji, Yizhi Li, Libing Liao, Jian-Hua Lin, Shixiong Liu, Zhijie Liu, Yang Lv, Zhenhong Mai, Liwen Niu, Feng Pan, Lianmao Peng, Yuanyuan Qiao, PC Shaw, Yuequan Shen, Haibin Song, Chengyong Su, Xiao-Dong Su, Maikun Teng, Cong Wang, Dacheng Wang, Jiyang Wang, Yingxia Wang, Zhanshan Wang, Zheming Wang, Linhong Wong, Xiaoshan Wu, Xintao Wu, Yicheng Wu, Dongfeng Xue, Deren Yang, Ning Ye, Changcheng Yin, Lingmin Zeng, Ze Zhang, Yanming Zhao, Hegeng Zheng, Weitao Zheng, Shifu Zhu.And the Secretaries, Na Yang and Chong Chen have also participated in the meeting.The first board committee meeting elected the following standing committee members (22 in total). At the board committee meeting, Jian-Hua Lin (Peking U.) was elected president of the 4^th CCrS congress, Xiao-Dong Su (Peking U.) was elected Vice-President and the Chairpersons of six commissions were also elected (see above).
